Backyard Antics and a Secret Obsession....

Our little garden is coming to a close--we are left with a few more onions, carrots, and never ending squash and cucumbers. Here's Jack and Ella enjoying some harvest time together.

And what do YOU do in the summer time??? Well, our very creative daughters don't let going to the dentist get them down--especially since we all came out cavitiy free! Anway, they wanted to take their balloon from the trip and make it into a pinata--I'm all for stuff that keeps them busy and happy so I let em go at it--They made a nice one, but I never got any pictures of the final product--it was painted and everything. However, it had a rather tragic downfall in that it never was host to mounds of candy and a strong beating by small children. I believe a small, cute, busy baby found it in the yard and had a hayday with it. Still, the process was fun!

And now for the obsession........

Yes, we'll admit it--we are die hard Highschool Musical fans at our house. We own all three movies, all three soundtracks, and know the words to all the songs. So, when we found out about a muscial theater experience that was performing songs from the movies, we were defnitely on board. The lady in charge did a great job--she took a bunch of kids ages 4-11, and in ONE WEEK created an adorable little show where almost all the kids got to sing a solo, they all danced pretty much together (unless you count that one little girl on stage who decided to lay sideways the whole time and stretch her legs--maybe she was going for a Sharpay "Fabulous" look or something), and really looked like they were having a great time. We know our kiddos did!

Our little wildcats--Yes, Logan was the only boy in the older group of kids, but there were a few more boys in the younger group. He surprizingly didn't seem to mind AT ALL--He informed me that was playing Troy Bolton--by default I guess. He did get to sing a part that Troy sang in the movies, and he thought that was awesome.

I think the camera was on the wrong setting because these onstage pictures came out pretty blurry, but you get the idea.

Angie got to perform with the "big girls" in a rendition of "Bop to the Top!"

We really enjoyed watching this show--and Ella did as well! She sat really well and gazed longingly at the stage, probably secretly hoping that the performers had heard about her fabulous baby moves and wanted her to join the ensemble. She even clapped along during some of her favorite songs. We will definitley sign up for whatever this wonderful woman decides to put together next summer!
