Does anyone know...

how to get fingernail polish out of hair?

Yep, that's what I just said--fingernail polish out of hair.

I am pretty sure the obvious solution, fingernail polish remover, would work pretty well, but I'm not excited about having the possible problem of a two year old with bleached and damaged locks. The only thing I know of to try is oil or ice. So, before I dive in and try to get to get this stuff out, I thought I would check to see if anyone else had ever had this problem before. If not, at least you can pity me and be happy that all of your children have natural colored hair without any matts or clumps of sparkly blue in them. Sigh....lucky you.

In completely unrelated news, Logan is grounded for the next few days and will have the priviledge of performing some extra service for his family by way of various chores chosen by his mother.

Have a lovely day!

Elaine, why didn’t you tell me it was a trilogy?!?!?!??!

Okay, obviously this is a very late post.  Obviously I should be in bed right now.  Obviously everyone else in my household will probably be up in about five and a half hours.  Obviously my sweet husband tried to get me to go to sleep and I could not do it.  And OBVIOUSLY I am writing a post right now.

WHY?  Why you ask?  Well, I will tell you in one word—maybe two.

Hunger. Games.

Awesome. Book.

Could. Not. Put. It. Down.

Very. Upset. To. Find. That. It. Is. A. TRILOGY!!!!!

What happens to Katniss?  And Peeta!  And I guess I should care about Gale too, but to be honest I really don’t very much.   And what about all those crazy/evil/sad/horrible people???

Elaine, you never told me there was more to this book….But, maybe that is a good thing.  Because if I knew that I might have the next book right now, and then I wouldn’t get any sleep tonight.

Okay, if anyone out there wants to go crazy like I have read this great book by Suzanne Collins.  It is riveting and thought provoking and has fabulous characters—I am a sucker for a good plot with great characters.

But I, being a merciful being, will tell you that the book has two more coming after it.  And the last one, I think, hasn’t even been released yet.  So, be prepared to want more at the end.  But be prepared for a great read and some thought provoking stuff that will keep you up at night and wanting to blog about it.

HUNGER GAMES

Now, I must sleep.  Goodbye.

Spring means….

I think in this picture Sunny wanted everyone to know that Logan had pinched her or something of that sort.  Unfortunately Logan doesn’t seem to be very bothered by it.:)  Sibling fun!

Some other things that go with Spring include (but are not limited to):

getting wet after car washes,

yard work,

harvesting, (although our garden is not much to brag about this year, but if anybody needs cilantro, PLEASE come get it at our house!)      the LOVE CARROTS

Spring has sprung, but unfortunately here in the desert it’s almost done!

Sedona and Oak Creek

We decided to head on over to Sedona and Oak Creek for a Spring Break camping trip.  We’ve done it two years in a row now and both times have been really beautiful to visit—Here’s a few highlights from our trip in randomness:

Jack made me take this picture like five times or something to get him in the air.  Now you can all be impressed with his coolness, including his ultra cool shirt custom made by his daughters.  They actually designed it for our ward’s Bishop’s Breakfast where the bishopric cooks breakfast for the ward—they wanted Dad to look sharp!

Here’s the reason we were able to go camping—a pop up camper!!!  It is a “new to us” wonderful purchase that we recently got off Craig’s list.  Mom loves it!

Conner’s first camping trip!  He was a happy camper (get it? happy camper…), but nights were a bit of a challenge for him.  Being that there were only two nights though made it not so bad, and he really seemed to enjoy being outdoors a lot.

Partying in the camper because, yeah, it was warm in there and nights were CHILLY.  Actually, we had some trouble figuring out how to work the heat and lighting, but Corey and Jack finally got it—yeah!  It was a learning experience in many ways going with our camper the first time.

We hiked up to this spot with all the kids—Corey and Dallin and Bryant came too.  We thought it would be a perfect “little” hike of only 0.7 miles to the top.  But man, it was tough!  The kids did really well though—Ella actually didn’t want to be in her backpack for a lot of the hike and wanted to do it “by myself.”

Here’s our attempted group shot—Conner is in there in the depths of my coat and held in place by his Moby Wrap.

Angie the super nanny and super helper!

It was fun to find little patches of snow here and there.

Corey ended up coming with us with just his bigger boys because Kari got sick and stayed with Asher.  I told him he should have gotten Dad of the Year Award for all his great work with his sons.  It was fun to have them along.

Okay, so look closely down below and you will see a bunch of bikes…and bike trailers…and no people on them….because we brought all these bikes…and trailers…to bike on some trails….but the trails didn’t turn out like we thought….and it was way too rocky and hard for kids…and, uh, bike trailers…..however, luckily….we have fun adventurous children….who found something else that was WAY fun…..and had a great time anyway….so much for the bikes!

Marathon Post

Because these last few weeks have felt like a marathon—lots of good stuff happening…. Normally I don’t include all of our events because, well, I would be posting a lot because with all these kiddos we just have a lot of stuff going on. However, I just decided it might be fun to include it all this time. So, here it goes…

Angie had “Wax Museum” last week. Each student picks a person in history to write a report on and then become that person and present in a “museum” their life. She was Mary Todd Lincoln—what a fascinating lady she was! And also very tragic.

We saw many other historical wax figures that night—it was really interesting.

100_1241

Luckily my sister Mel was in town and she did Angie’s hair for the big night—it looked so beautiful she could have gone to the prom…in six years of course!

This is just a cute shot of my other sister Becky with the little ones before we all went to Wax Museum.

Lots O’ Babies!

100_1238

Then Logan had his cottage fair this week—they did a musical presentation on..you guessed it…America! Very well done and so nice to see teaching in schools of so many patriotic songs—even the armed forces ones!

100_1260

The same night of Logan’s cottage fair we went to Sunny’s. In fact, our whole family performed together in it. Alas, I have no pictures of that because my mom took them on her camera and I haven’t gotten them yet. We did a skit about the horny toad and Logan was the horny toad—it was fun, especially the part where Logan squirted fake blood from his eyes to show the special ways a horny toad defends itself. You will just have to imagine the pictures of that one!

Another pic of Logan’s show:

100_1254

This last Saturday Sunny and Angie performed in Calvacade. This is a special concert where hundreds of students perform—they have twenty pianos on the stage and all the students play at the same time with their different levels. This year they had a special guest—Jon Schmidt. He is a famous piano composer and performer and he was AWESOME.

100_0583

The pictures are at the practice before the show—I don’t really know why he does the “hang loose” sign, but he is still a great piano player nonetheless.:)

100_0576

And the school also had a sock hop this last weekend on Friday night—none of us won the hoola hoop contest, but at least they had cake.

100_0562

Oh, and we got our garden in for the Spring…

100_0492100_0493

And Ella and Conner are still darling…

100_0616100_0529

And now we are sooooo ready for Spring Break!!!
