Emerald Pools

This was our second day of hiking and we let the kids take off their shoes and we all hiked along the river.

Feeding Zion Elk

Here I am feeding the Elk--I thought that Jack was

taking a picture so I kept trying to smile at him.

I was really fine after this, it was just strange to get used to it!

Climbing Checkerboard Mesa in Zion National Park

Here are the adventurers!

ZION!

We had a SUPER vacation this last week! It was very hard to choose pictures because everything is so beautiful there that we took so many! For those who have never been to Zion National Park--YOU NEED TO GO! We loved it and we still could have stayed longer and done more.

We camped at a pretty nice spot. It was camping, but they also had washers and dryers, as well as showers--very nice! Also, my mom and step dad were there too and they got a cabin while we slept in a tent--except the last night where they surprized us by getting us a cabin! Thanks!

Here we are on the River Walk Hike--the weather was perfect! The views are breathtaking!

What a cutie!

The next day we hiked The Emerald Pools--three beautiful pools--a bit more challenging for the kids but they loved it--we even explored along the river a ways.

Check out the foot grip!!

Exploration....

We had to stop at this spot because it was getting pretty rough--but we loved finding a little "fairy cave."

Yeah--we made it to the spot!
This was our last and most challenging hike--The Hidden Canyon. We had to hike up a ways and then we even hiked along a cliff edge--pretty exciting!

Awesome feeling!

Oh--it is so beautiful!

On the last day we got these cheesy shirts and on our way out of the park had to get a picture at the famous "Checkerboard Mesa." The kids enjoyed hiking up a ways. Well, the opening song for genereal conference is almost over--I had better get going and listen to the words of the prophets now--just wanted to post these in case I lost the pics or something!

Cottage Fair and Other Happenings

Okay, first of all, sorry the picture on the title is SO BIG! I don't know how to make it smaller, but I still like it so I left it on. Anyhow, this last week we had "Cottage Fair" at the kids' school. They do these really great thematic units called cottages, and then at the end of the unit the family is invited to a fair to celebrate all the neat things they have learned and worked on. Angie's was Plant Nursery so we got to do some planting and learn about plants. Sunny's was all about weather and we got to see her as a Junior Meteoroligist (spelling?). Logan's, being in kindergarten, was All About Me. Very appropriate, and I thought the most fun because we had a potluck where each kid brought food that started with their letter name, so Logan brought lasagna! Anyhow, it was lots of fun--we really love their school and teachers!

The school has a garden and many classes get to plant different things throughout the year.

This is the two manly men in our house fixing a flat tire! Man, are you starting to bald sweetie pie??? I still love you though!

Here are our awesome kids working hard--or should I say hardly working?? Okay, have to capture the moment....
Oh yes, for those who haven't heard, there is a new mythical creature in the imagination nation. It is called the Sanador and it actually made the rainbow! Just thought I would keep you up to date on all the recent happenings in this marvelous country that Sunny loves to frequently visit!

Happy Brithday Jack!

Today was Jack's birthday! Since we had a cub scout pack meeting and a wedding reception to go to that night, we had our celebrations in the morning.

ooohh...Is this what I think it is???????

Oh yeah--it is! I got a laptop! I love you!!!!

Hermione--not impressed with much other that the tissue paper and herself!
(Yes, she was named after the Harry Potter gal--Angie and I both love the books.)

Even though we didn't have party for dad, the wedding reception was a blast! I have never seen one that was so kid friendly! They had pizza, taquitos, popcorn, cotton candy, soft serve ice cream and other stuff too--It was heaven for our kids--and it was outside in a huge front yard--So it was a great party for my wonderful husband's birthday! He deserves it too!

Grand Canyon

Okay, this is my first entry so I sort of did this wrong. To get this in the right order, you need to go down to the "last " post, that is really the first. Or, if you are a believer in the whole "The first shall be last" idea, then go for it from here. Have fun whatever you do!

Contemplating nature's wonders...

Here are our kids, Cousin Mason, and Aunt Mel hanging out.

It was also Logan's 6th birthday that day! He loved his super brownie!

(That's Danny in the back, grinning from ear to ear!)

An attempted group shot....yeah.....

Can you believe they didn't fall off the edge?
